Wild Habitat

If you’re anything like me, you’ve marveled at the incredible diversity of fish species – their vibrant colors, bizarre body shapes, and unique feeding adaptations – and wondered about how exactly they live in the wild. I’ve spent a significant part of my life (from my first aquarium at age 12 or so to the present) fascinated by the subject, and have been fortunate enough to have traveled to many of the incredible places across the globe that both freshwater and marine aquarium fish inhabit. This page is part of an ongoing effort to share my photos and video footage of these wild habitats with those who may be interested in learning about – and perhaps developing a deeper appreciation for – the diverse and often imperiled freshwater and marine ecosystems which have given rise to such a remarkable array of fishes and other aquatic life.

Categorization will be somewhat arbitrary, but I’ll keep things organized by river system or country with additional information included with each photo or video. This is likely to be a work in progress for some time so bear with me and please don’t hesitate to comment with your thoughts or suggestions.
